US News & World Report Reviews the 2017 Ford Focus RS: "A Practical Sports Car"

The 2017 Ford Focus RS is gaining an increasingly widespread reputation as one of the hottest "under-the-radar" sports cars available at a regular dealership for a reasonable price (starting at $36,120). In fact, the five-door hatchback, which provides ample room inside for passengers and cargo, along with tremendous power under the hood, was recently called a "practical sports car" in a review by US News & World Report.

The all-wheel drive Focus RS is indeed an undercover hot rod. It features a 2.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that cranks out a startling 350 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque. It comes - as it should for a fully-engaged driving experience - with a six-speed manual transmission as well as hill-start assist and an automatic start-stop system, and has been timed getting from 0-60 mph in just 4.6 seconds.

The cabin is well-outfitted and complements the car's red-hot performance with a heavily-bolstered Recaro bucket seats up front that provide great side support in hard cornering. The RS has 19.9 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats, which expands to 43.8 cubic feet with the seats down. The Focus RS uses the latest version of Ford's infotainment system, called Sync 3, and features an 8.0-inch touchscreen interface in the center console for controlling climate, audio and navigation, and is also set up for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
